Supplies:
Yoga Cards (Buy at the store or print out photos of yoga poses)
Your Child's Favorite Music
2-4 players
Ages: 3+
Directions: Lay out your yoga cards in a small circle. Use approximately 4-6 cards. If your child needs visual cues of where to stop, you can use yoga mats, blankets, or small pillows to mark the yoga card spots. Have your child start to walk or skip around the circle when you start their favorite song. When you pause the music, your child must stop on the yoga card they are on and copy the yoga pose pictured.
Yoga poses provide vestibular and proprioceptive input through movement, muscle, and joint activation, and they help children with body awareness. For an upgrade, you can do an elimination-style game by removing the yoga pose after your child completes it, teaching emotional regulation and positive social skills. Or, you can continue the game until your child has completed all the poses if they are not ready for this step!
